While the origin's of Bobotie are unclear, the national dish of South Africa is truly representative of this diverse country. With roots in Kenya, Zimbabwe, and other African countries, the subtle spices are mostly influenced from the Indian and Indonesian roots of the country. Ground beef is gently spiced with cumin and turmeric, then covered with an egg and baked. It's soul satisfying and comfort food that you crave. 


While your main course is baking away, you'll learn about Biltong, the dried cured meat that originated in South Africa. While you likely won't be able to find Biltong in North America, your chef will walk you through the substitute and teach you about this native product.
