Apple strudel is the classic version made across Eastern Europe with roots dating back to the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The oldest known recipe is from 1697 and is part of a handwritten cookbook housed at the Vienna City Library. And here we are now, still making this delicious pastry dessert because it’s too good not to.
